Teaser!
Posted by: 762SPR - 05-09-2013, 02:49 AM - Forum: Pictures - Replies (19)

I've been working on these things for way too damn long but I almost have a working set for 05+ 636 with some R6 cores next on the list. After that is 6 piston adapters. There are a few more operations left to do on each part, but here's a little teaser showing off some configurations... bottom left, it does nothing:
WTB 03/04 636 Stunt Bike (No title) <2k
Posted by: OneNaked636 - 05-08-2013, 01:46 PM - Forum: Wanting to Buy - Bikes - Replies (6)

Alright guys, I had to get rid of my last 03 due to legal problems but I'm in the market for a new lot bike. I'm about to get my pain and suffering check and my tax return will come a bit later but I figure I'll post now and see what some of you guys got. I'm looking to spend under 2k on a bike. preferably 1500-1800...No title and nothing beat to hell. doesnt have to be any where near perfect lol. maybe a few stunt things on it but I'll take what is available. I'll be on the look out for the right bike. I don't care if it takes a few months or til Fall! I need it to run great with no tranny issues. I'm on the East coast In PA. But I've driven hundred of miles for other bikes so let me know where you're at...Or if you'll deliver I'll pay. Or if it has a salvage title or something I'd be interested as well. Let me know what you guys got. No doubt I'll have cash money for one!

Feeler: Who needs stunt parts for a wr250x?
Posted by: StuntMing - 05-08-2013, 10:33 AM - Forum: Quads / Dirtbikes / Motard / Trials - No Replies

So I'm debating parting out the stunt goodies on my wr250x. Before I went out and bought a bunch of stuff, wanted to see if anyone still needs parts. I'd be selling a 13mm magura LHS handbrake, 80"in SS line, FTI rear bracket (caliper included), the "original" Ryan Stephens foothoop/12 bar, 50stunt rear pegs, 50stunt oversized rider pegs, and possibly the 50stunt fork and swingarm pegs. Let me know if anyone is interested in any of these parts.
best R6 triple caliper set up?
Posted by: Nick Storm - 05-07-2013, 04:58 AM - Forum: Stunt Discussion - Replies (7)

okay so I bought one from forstunt in poland and I've had a nightmare with it...

What's the best one out there people???

I had to angle grind some down to make it fit, file it to make it fit, didn't realise the floater wasn't floating so I had to drill it out, and sand it down but in th emean time it had overheated, 90% of 2 brand new sets of pads were wasted in a a couple of hours riding and my brand new disc was warped. What complete waste of time, money and energy. I just want rid of it. PLEASE, I need a good one!!! __________________

Contact Cement Bad For HT Moto Grip
Posted by: pray4butter - 05-06-2013, 02:13 AM - Forum: Help and How To - Replies (8)

I read through a number of threads trying to decide if I should buy HT Grip with the adhesive or use my own form of adhesive.

It appeared that the majority of people said that Weldwood Contact cement was the best way to go for a stronger more permanent bond to your gas tank. So that is the route I chose.

I'm not sure if Weldwood contact cement bonds well with certain types of paint and not so well with others? My tank was painted by an auto body shop with automotive grade paint and the painted tank had over a week to dry.

When I applied the contact cement to the tank and the HT grip you are supposed to let it dry for 15 minutes according to the instructions on the bottle so it can become tacky. Within just a few minutes of applying the contact cement it started reacting with the paint on the tank making it bubble, just like a paint thinner would.

I tried to put the HT grip on anyway because I wasn't sure what to do at that point and it appeared to be tacky or sticking. I put pressure on the grip for about 10 minutes around the different curves because HT material is fairly stiff. Everything seemed to be fine and bonded. Then I came back the next morning and the grip had basically ballooned or puffed out with big air bubbles between the grip and tank as if a gas was created from the contact cement reacting with the paint.

I peeled the grip off and I'm starting over with another adhesive, that sucked.
05 zx6r exhaust question
Posted by: Zackp00 - 05-05-2013, 02:45 AM - Forum: Help and How To - Replies (16)

I know you all say use the factory exhaust on the bike but I HATE how it sounds! With that said I picked up a yoshi slip on and it' has been shortened some. I was wondering if any of you have tried cutting the servo valve off the factory and putting it on your slip on. Trying keep the low end I hear I'll loose plus keep all my lights off. Any tips etc I was just curious wish I had a spare factory exhaust to try cutting up first but I don't. will it work? Screw it and sell the slip on and deal with my bike sounding like a lil moped or loose a lil low end and have it sound like a bike..... What would you all suggest???
