929rr Erion Racing build
#1
4 years ago i owned an 01 929 erion edition that was my pride and joy. thing was so clean you could eat off it. sold it to pick up a beater so i could learn how to stunt. always regretted getting rid of it. erion 929 has always been one of my favorite bikes since i got into riding as a kid.

fast forward to september 2013 i was browsing craigslist looking for parts for my current bike when i stumbled across an ad for a 929 erion...click the ad and low and behold its my old bike. the pics posted in the ad were pictures of the bike in my driveway from 2009. called the dude up, turns out it was the same guy i sold the bike to he said its been sitting in his garage basically untouched since i sold it only put like 1,000 miles on it in the 3+ years he had it. went to the bank, got my money, and drove 4 hours to southern NJ to get my old baby back!

got to the house...literally nothing was changed on the bike except the guy added a scotts damper which was nice. bike showed signs of sitting everything was dusty and alot of the polished pieces showed signs of pitting, but overall it was fresh just like i left it. its pretty tough to find these bikes in good shape anymore, erions were only made in 2001.

got it home safely and parked it next to my 954rr that i had built up over the previous year.

couldnt stand looking it at dusty and dirty so i immediatly cleaned it and hit it with a quick polish job

next day i had to start tinkering with it

added an FI cage, hohey dual caliper bracket setup with a magura 13mm master, rsc clutch lever, flipped 636 clip ons under the triple, did some custom little led lights in the headlights ran to a switch, hid's, mirror block offs, and disabled the tip over sensor

got a few days of getting used to riding the bike in

got it registered and insured and rode it out to NYC for the hollywood block party...rode well all day and survived the crazy day without breaking down

group shot of my toys before i sold the 954

had my fun on the streets before NY winter cold hit

sold the 954 so now its time to focus a bit more on setting this 929 up better for next season..added the front wave rotors

been trying to find a spare erion edition gas tank so i can dent it up but the damn things seem to be nearly impossible to find. copped this tank for next to nothing just in case i cant find an erion one all winter but i really dont want to have to paint it to match id rather find the right one.

ordered a sick innovation round bar since i have a bad tendancy of destroying fresh tails.

came out pretty nice but had to ditch the undertail kit to make it fit...gonna try to fab up a custom undertail to keep it clean looking and will order a slim integrated led tail light strip to stay legal.

with the 636 clip ons underneath the triple my controls were hitting on my intake duct covers and i have custom painted erion theme duct covers so i definitly want to keep them on. found a nice powdercoated black hohey triple for good price on here so scooped that which will allow me to run the bars on top and should give me proper clearance and a better feel.

been kinda slacking on the bike due to the cold but it was almost 50 yesterday so i pulled it out to chip away some more at my to-do list. gutted the airbox flapper, noticed some oil residue in the airbox so i did the clean air mod, and also added a cbr f3 2nd idle screw

and heres how she sits now as it dropped from 50 yesterday to 5 today

plan for this bike if you cant tell already is to keep it a clean looking street stunter,,,no cutting or hacking any fairings, everything simple and low key. some things that i have planned to do over the winter are some nice JB seats, take off front and rear wheels and repolish the lips as the have pitted out pretty bad from sitting, new rear sprocket, and a bunch of other assorted shit that i have to figure out. one of the pistons in my right front brake caliper is hanging up and i noticed alot of debris/residue inside the caliper so i think one of the seals is leaking...might teach myself how to rebuild the caliper never done that. this will be slow but i like to make threads to keep track so fuck it
