I've been working real hard on these last couple sessions but I'm still having problems...
Most commonly, I'll dip in and as I come around for the first circle I pick up rotation speed and by the end of the first circle I'm highsiding so I have to set it down and hop off the other side of the bike. SOMETIMES, I can pull in the clutch, do a quick stall and ride off straight... Cool, but not what I want.
Other times, I just stall the bike somewhere around the first circle. If I'm doing really well, I can bounce the clutch, brake, and throttle just right to keep going around in a circle really slowly, but it's not really smooth like a standing circle.
I know I just need to work on them more, and I do feel like I'm making a little progress, but I'm just wondering if anyone has some tips to speed up the process?
Thanks!

Probably one of the most difficult O's to do is the sitdown. Requires commitment and there is pretty much no leverage with your weight. Stay leaned in and always look in to where you are trying to go. Use your inside knee to help with keeping you inside. Also Sit as close to the tank as possible, the weight close to the front of the bike helps. Again keeping your body committed to the inside is the best bet.

After the initial dip in, work on getting the front down a little.

Thanks guys! I'm even more addicted to these things than learning standing circles! I'm going to hopefully go practice some more in a little bit and I'll keep all this in mind... One thing that sure has gotten a lot better is my footbrake and clutch control though! And my sitdowns in general are shaping up nicely!

While we're here, I want to mention that sit downs with your balls up against the tank, and sit downs with your ass firmly planted in the back of the seat are totally different animals. When youre slid forward, most of your weight is on your hands, and some even on your feet, but almost none on your ass. This gives you a lot more flexibility to shift your weight around and keep it going. If youre good with the footbrake and staggereds, you should be able to pick this method up easily.
If you ever want to take your hands off though, youve got a whole nother circle to learn. With youre weight on your ass, all you can do is lean in when it gets too tall, and gas it when it gets too low.

Yeah, I'm on an 06 so I have that huge step and a large tailsaver that I sit back against when doing sitdowns. I can do one and no handers (barely) without needing to hook my shifter foot under the peg, too.

With the setup you have you def would find it easier to be up towards the tank. Sitting that far back is going to make you highside much quicker IMO

Like said, balls on tank along with your chest or face as close to gas cap as possible...
Hardest circle out there.......Especially to really bang out and keep going.
