\r\n \r\n i also have a 1989 528 that we have had in the family since day 1. We have never had to do any major repairs other than the usual wear and tear.\r\n

\r\n \r\n i work at a specialized european auto shop in biloxi...they are great cars...as for electrical problems... never to my knowledge and we do at least 20 services on bmw\'s a day. major problems are window regulators which can be an ass to change...the awd is great on the x. and they are one of the most high mileage capable cars out. if you like it get it...YES you will pay to play but, hell thats with anything cool...i drive a supercharged mini cooper..(owned by bmw) and it has been a fantastic car. i would say go for it... but like everyone else said...don\'t do it to be cool...do it bc its what you want. IMO\r\n

\r\n \r\n So I decided to pick it up last night. I had an e36 a few years ago and loved how it drove and handled. This one has 150k and from what I see it needs cv axles and tie rods and a fan clutch. I got it for 3500 which I think was a great price. Wasn\'t looking for any baller status with a ten year old bimmer

. Just wanted a decent smooth car for my commute to work that I could drive through the winter and got decent gas mileage.\r\n

its actually the 1.6 supercharged...its the o4 model..the newer ones run turbos instead of superchargers and i do beleive they have 1.8, but for being such a small motor..the car hauls ass and i get about 42mpg.\r\n
