Anyone had this happen before?
I spoke to an engineering shop that said they could weld it but what do you guys think, will it hold up through future drops?

seen it on a bunch of f4i's not on a 636 , i would get another motor

Seen it happen to several 636's, just put some honda-bond on it!

that sucks , if it didnt go right into the center of the cam seat i would say give welding it a try but nah i would just find a used motor if it were mine

did this to my 636..i also wanted to weld mine but mine was cracked too bad around the corner to weld, i would guess yours is to. i bought a used head on ebay and replaced it.. good luck (and i seen people replace heads without droping the motor but not sure on 636 cause mine was already out)

damm i was hoping i could get away with the $50 weld..
And yep its cracked up around the corner aswell, Im runnin a tygershark cage.
Is there anythin that could prevent this sort of thing from happening? or is just too many hard drops?

that happened on my 2 of my f4i motors. the first one i got welded and it cracked right open the first day riding it again. It was also welded by fastrack whos a reputable welder here in phx, didnt matter. get a new motor

i think one wheel neal broke a couple f4i motors like this to , i had no idea so many people broke 636's like this
