According to you all clip styles are used for dirt bikes. I haven't seen a 530 chain on a dirt bike, ever.
Here is my take on this. Use what ever you want. Racers use the clip style and have no issues with them. If Racers don't have issues, then stunters won't. The only issue that anyone would have with a clip style link is if them put it on backwards and did a HIGH rate of SPEED. This would make the clip come off.
Shit, I just tossed out a chain last year that had 4 seasons on it of hard riding. It ha3 3 (THREE) clip style masters in it from when my stock chain broke and I patched it back up with clip links....
Point is, put the clip on in the right direction and you will have zero issues.

What sportbike service manual did you read where it calls for a clip link??
If they never fall off, then why is it, that I would periodically see bikes in for service MISSING the clip?

ive ran clip style on every bike ive ever owned, which is quite a few including dirt bikes. never had a problem cuz i know how to install a clip properly
