Just started riding streets on my 07 fz1, and I'm trying to see what everyone's opinions are on gearing if you ride a liter bike. I'm on a 60t and -2 up front and its super fucking choppy, these trannys are geared really weird anyway. Just looking for opinions. Thanks homies.

I'm not sure how to be smooth with it, the slightest roll of the throttle and its past 12 then I panic and bump the handbrake. I'm not sure if its because I'm nervous and just starting? But it's a handful. I love my bike, and have way too many toys and don't really wanna fork out more cash for another bike.

Lol that counts. It's alot smoother in the lot on idle for sure, which I thought it would be opposite but I'm sure the gearing has alot to do with that.

One trick is to modify your throttle tube. You can dremel the plastic ridge that the cables ride on, down a little smaller...and even create your own progressive "lobe" to give smaller throttle inputs. I've done it on both me '02 FZ1 stunt bike....and my 954. Helps out a bit, fo sho!!

I've also seen people take another piece of PVC that would fit just around the throttle tube cut it in half then dremel it down and bevel down the edges so it's a crescent moon shape. Then epoxy it in place. Not sure what works better.
