So the 7.3 is going away and I'm between a 2007+ duramax or a 2007+ Mega cab cummins. Really low miles on either one.
I really liked the duramax a lot after busting out a round trip from AZ to FL with a buddy of mine but I also kinda have a hard on for a mega cab. Plus I know the cummins is a good engine. Ford is out and I dont want a gasser. I was also debating on an H1 but it would be older and less reliable so that would be a dumb decision.

I absolutely HATE the seat in the Dodge..... HATE them... I would either have to change them or find a different vehicle...
and I work as a service adviser at a chevy dealership... havent seen issues with the duramax's all that often.. at least til the 300k+ mark...

I didn't mind the seats in the dodge but after getting used to the ford, anything is good.

So I pulled the trigger on the mega cab laramie. It has leather bucket seats so its pretty comfy but I do see what you were saying about the regular dodge seats. Those things sucked big time.

good call on staying away from ford

Cummins are without a doubt the best diesel engines, but you're not gonna go wrong with a duramax either. I work for a dodge dealership, and a laramie mega cab is a badass truck, I'm kind of jealous

I like it so far. Got a diamond eye 5" turbo back and a H&S mini maxx coming in tomorrow to open this bitch up a little. Its pretty damn gutless with all the EGR/DPF bullshit. Also had to put the AMP Research midget helpers on it for the wifey and daughter.

That'll really help it out. New diesels are really restricted, it almost doesn't sound like a diesel.
