i have the tape, but i never tried this, becouse in my opinion it will never work. the engine sucks normal outside temp air from outside. its sucks a lot of liters air. even on idle it sucks a lot. so lets suppose that the airbox is hot.. realy hot, even than the air doesnt have time to heat up, becouse the airflow is so high. so i hope ''the believers'' from this product have 100nm more on idle and no heat issues, but i dont believe in mirracles

Not sure if its the same but I use this for noise damping and heat shielding from exhaust. $16 per roll at home depot in bldg materials

i dont believe in miracles either, but if this stuff will shield the heat from the motor and keep the air box from getting heat soaked. you should see a small increase in power with cooler air. wich would make your motor run more efficiently. plus for less then $10 bucks a roll for the tape your not loosing much if it doesnt work.

to make that work even better you might want to add some mesh glass or foam insulation to the mix. cause right now you are putting mettle tape over your plastic box as mettle will take longer to heat up it will also hold heat longer then the plastic. other then that its a sweet idea

People use stuff like that on their race cars to keep heat off them.. I think it has some kinda reflection effect that help reflect some heat away. Not really insulate it.. kinda like those foil looking blankets for emergencys. Hood idea to do the rest of the underside of fuel tank if the factory foam stuff don't cover it all, wich it don't.
