Ben you're talking like you have all this life experience, you're 20 years old and until you joined the armed forces a year or so ago you've been living with mommy and daddy.
If I remember correctly, both your mother and father are pretty well off financially, I dare say you may have lived a somewhat sheltered life..lol

No. If you were 20 and lived on your own since you were 15, I would consider you more experienced in life.
So I guess if you want to label it, then call it sheltered rich kid ism..lol

Trust me when you have a house that you own with possessions you worked hard for I'm sure you will see it differently. We just had a hurricane where I was without power for a week and a half and other people more. People desperate to get gas was the closest thing I have ever seen to mass chaos. Sitting inside my house with a generator powering it and having no weapon to protect myself was not a good feeling. Needless to say I now have one and its not to go out looking for trouble. It's to stop someone from coming and taking what I worked hard for in a time of need.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say people don't stand up for their rights because they are afraid of being singled out or put on some list somewhere and blacklisted or something.
its a fear thing, plain and simple. its what tyranical gov't do. they rule by fear. what do you think all this "terrorism" bullshit is about. its to keep you in fear and make you think you need the gov't to keep you safe. i signed it and i recommend you all do the same. mikem posted the link so thanks to mike.

guns a good idea. but in a real crisis there will be no gas so don't rely on a generator. shit could go south for 6 months or more if something really hits the fan, which i think it will very, very soon.
