All has to do with tensile strength. The lower tensile strength = clip links
High tensile strength = rivet links

The clip has nothin to do with how strong the link is it is how its held on the force being pulled on the chain is in the link not the clip a clip link is just as strong and safe as a rivit

clip links are just as durable as rivet links, the people who install them are dangerous

I tell people to do what they want, They come from the factory with rivet syle links for a reason. If its your hearts desire to slap on a cheap chain, then be sure to safety wire the clip. Its your crankcase that will get smashed and or leg/foot that could be sliced and diced. Yeah 99.9 percent of the time clip WILL work, but I would hate to be that 1% if it were to fail.

If your gonna go with a 520 conversion and do stunting with it get the EK MVXZ chain. I've watch the SRX chains snap. They are great for the street but not really strong enough for constant stunting.

Rivet links can fail to. I guess everyone should just order chains with no master links in them and have to remove the swing arm to put it on.

520 is too much rotating mass, get a 420.

I have heard of more chain mishaps from not properly using the correct tool on rivet types. There is no difference in strength between a rivet or clip link. Its ppl like you who create these "mishaps" I could be wrong but I don't believe the OEM use a C clamp, block, hammer.
