\r\n \r\n I\'m confused? On Stealth Rider Last night Jason Britton said that FI cages are the best! You must be mistaken... Did you do that with a hammer so you can hate on FI?\r\n

\r\n \r\n Im assuming this is on a f4i? The FI cage is practically bullet proof on this bike. I dont understand how if properly installed that a FI cage would do this. By the looks of your pics the cage has been dropped numerous times really hard, all the mounting bolts are misc bolts, not the original parts from FI. The slider looks rusted or even different. The all thread thru the frame looks like its been replaced with bolts. No wonder your engine case broke! Doesnt look like a tru FI cage mount and install to me?!?!?! Im just sayin!\r\n

I would agree with you if a bolt had broken and the cage slammed into the stator. However it was simply the cage flex which is typical of FI cages. As I\'ve said before, that single strut is just not enough to support the hoop. Although I don\'t think I\'ve seen a busted stator on an f4i before cuz the hoop doesn\'t sit over the stator on those bikes...\r\n

\nI made the mistake of running FI back in the day when we got sponsored with ST - I kept it tight - but it still allowed too many broken parts and multiple stripped motor mounts. It\'s an archaic design that has been surpassed by many of the newer cage companies. The writing has been on the proverbial wall for years - there is a plethora of threads on Stuntlife describing identical issues.\r\n
