Couple days ago, i got an Ar-15 from my friend as a birthday gift( gun under her name and purchase brandnew at gun dealer). But the point is.......can i use that gun to protect myseft if ppl broke in my house and attack my family?

^^^Agreed unless you have a fuckin supressor on that thing and then you're just bein ridiculous. You're chick is a bad ass for buyin you an AR 15, truly.. but go invest in an 18" remington tactical shotgun, or better yet a handgun.
