yahoo kinda makes it sounds like he didnt want to get deployed so maybe that was his way out

EDIT: on that note after watchin that video .. if he was indeed a radical muslim then he wouldnt stand for fighting against his owns religion/people so many he did this to kill our troops to prove to his faith ... just an idea
