Don't feel bad Paul .I had a set of valve covers blow like that on a 7.3 .I just finished installing an injection pump and was trying to clean some gasket material from the front cover .I used a ton of brakleen to breakup some of the grease, tried some sandpaper it was just to tight to get anything in there to clean it, so I decided to burn the remaining gasket off with my crack torch.......haha fkn boom brakleen is heavier then air and it filled the whole crankcase. I don't think anyone would of thought that the fuel pump would of had enough fuel and vapor to cause that explosion but you should of had it open and if you would of tried welding on my bike with the battery connected I would of called you an idiot.maybe in the future unhook the battery ,you haven't damaged a computer yet
