welding on a tank with the fuel pump in = fail
wending on a bike with the battery/ecu in = fail

I cleaned the pump off and put it in the tank so I wouldn't dent it too far and into the top of the pump. And I always dent tanks while the tank is mounted to the bike.

yeah i understand that part. thats how i do it, but welding i would say do off the bike. I wouldn't want to spark or arc anything on my bike.

and you must be at least this tall.

says the welder who fabricates on a bike with the battery/ecu attached, im no genius but I would wager my 5foot tall body houses a fairly larger size brain then yours. so how does it feel to be punked by someone standing on a box?

u should just stick to what you know... i've welded on my bikes, rah's multiple times, turtles and others with out disconnecting the battery or ecu. whats what might be hard to wrap ur little head around is that if you ground the part you are directly welding to it closes the the circuit and wont harm your electronics... while the ppl below dont give any type of fabricating resume you can see im not the only one that follows by that rule. So just go back to googling ppl on the internet or whatever it is P.I's do and have a good day lil fella
