to weld or not weld?

my powder coater found this yesterday and debating whether to just weld it or just get a whole new left side. its an impaktech cage for my 05 R6 and I already talked to Son about it. He said he'll weld it but if I want a new left side it'll be some $$$. if I weld it do you guys think it'll hold up??

He doesnt warranty his work?

He warranties his welds but he said that's the tube not the weld...

That started on the weld and walked into the tube

I'm planning to go talk to him after work today and show him personally bc I just sent a picture yesterday

yeah i would def say thats at the foot of the weld and def in the HAZ (heat ffected zone)

I got it welded on saturday and went out yesterday to practice. Someone who welds for a living happened to came out and said it probably happened bc the metal was probably heated up too much
