Starting out with a cheaper rig just to get my feet wet in TIG...still have to add the 240v service to the shop and waiting on tungsten, filler rod and a regulator to show up. Going to be working with thin wall round tubing for now. Once everything starts looking good I'll move to a different rig with AC to be able to switch all my parts over to aluminum.
Any good videos on technique and setup for tubing?

If its your first time I would get thicker metal to learn on also if you are going to do some pipe you are prolly gonna wanna use back up gas... You tube !!! Lol

What do you mean backup gas? It doesn't need to be anything liquid/gas tight

Not sure what he means by backup gas but you'll need 100% argon shielding gas, it doesn't have to be 100% but you'll get better results with it. What machine did you get?

Well when I'm at work I have an extra regulator for back up gas which would be extra argon shielding gas that you would put inside the pipe incase you burn through and to keep it colder you would purge it for a min then start welding with gas running inside the pipe the whole time

Like a purge so both sides of the weld have shielding gas on it the whole time welding

Ah I see, yeah that method works good for pipe fitting and isn't a bad idea, I've never felt the need for it though. Also FYI zues miller has a bunch of YouTube videos, they are a little bias towards their machines but will help you out.

I'm starting to see that, but anybody that welds knows Miller is pretty much top dog
The 100% argon should work fine for tubing as long as I'm not blowing it away and add plenty of filler rod, right? Going to fishmouth a bunch of smaller sections just for practice on different joints. Fishmouthing bent tubing is a pain! Good advice so far guys keep it coming
