I would love to see 250 vs 250, the problem is the EPA made it clear enough to the big 4 that 2 strokes, even dirt bikes on a closed course would eventually be held to unrealistic emission limits.

Despite what the author of your article says, the big 4 saw the writing on the wall and started putting all their efforts into the 4 stroke before the limits ever went into effect.

Direct injection 2 strokes have the ability to meet the projected emission limits but the added cost might have made it worth it to the big 4 to just go with the 4 strokes, either that or they just assumed the limit would get lower and lower year after year so they just took the leap and went 4 stroke.

They make 250's run against 450's and they make 125's run against 250's, it's clear they wanted to make sure the 4 strokes were winning so they would sell.

Yamaha was the worst bike he ever rode, if he is going back after just leaving them They must have opened the checkbook big..lol

He was riding this year for free for Yoshimura Suzuki Racing just to get away from Yamaha, so I don't see him going back to Yamaha.

Why you gotta say it like that?
