636 Issues...Bog at 2K RPM
Posted by: EnticeMediaWorks - 05-03-2010, 02:42 PM - Forum: Help and How To - Replies (8)

I've been triding this bike for over a year now and it's ran just fine. I run my idle at 4500RPM's for stunting and as soon as I dig into a little bit of brake the bike bogs at 2000RPM and starts to sputter. Otherwise the bike runs fine under power, it only seems to do this at 2000....

It only does this when it's hot, It seems to start at 212 degrees. Otherwise the motor seems to pull fine before it gets that hot. We drained the coolant thinking head gasket, but the engine ice was fine, no oil.

We've tested compression, leak down, coils, valve clearance, throttle body sync, new plugs, bypassed the powe commander, and numerous other things im forgetting and we can't figure it out. The problem continues...

Anyone have any ideas????

 CBR600RR Stunt Fix Mod (2007-2010)
Posted by: 12oclocker - 05-02-2010, 10:58 PM - Forum: Help and How To - Replies (15)

Mod:
As some of you who have stunted the new CBR600RR's know, there is a problem with the throttle in wheelies when the speed sensor is connected. Those who have stunted the bikes will simply unplug the speed sensor to resolve the issue. This mod resolves the problem, and removes the 187mph speed restriction on the bike, while allowing the speedometer on the gauge cluster to work.

How To:
We remove, or cut, the pink wire with the teal stripe going to the grey connector of the ECU, this wire is a tap to the speed sensor, once doing this the ECU will no longer know how fast the bike is moving, there are two side effects to this; the bike speed limit restriction is removed, the other is the bike will no longer lean out the fuel mixture in higher speeds, to resolve the issue of the fuel mixture being richer than normal at higher speeds, you could dyno and map your power commander AFTER disconnecting the wire, or you could put a switch on the wire to disconnect it for 'stunt mode', or connect it for 'street mode'.

More Info:
If you wanted to remove the speed restriction on a bike, This mod will work on virtually any bike, of course you would have to trace out the correct wire going to the ECU. Some bikes the ECU will only monitor the speed sensor wire, and some bikes the ECU will be "in the loop", and will read the signal, and spit it back out to the gauge cluster. For bikes which have an ECU that is only monitoring the signal, you can simply cut or pull the pin out for that wire going to the ECU, for bikes which have the ECU 'in the loop' you can trace out the input and outputs, and disconnect them from the ECU, then jumper them together.

2007 CBR600RR Pics:
Here are some pics from a 2007 CBR600RR we did the mod to,
they show the wire location on the ECU.
Hai never again
Posted by: Prospect - 05-01-2010, 11:21 PM - Forum: Stunt Companies - Replies (19)

thrusday night i broke my handbrake line. Friday morning i called up HAI and asked if he had any 80" lines in stock. He told me he did so i asked if i ordered it and paid the extra shipping could he get it to me by today (saturday). He told me he could but my total woudl be $9x.00. I told him thats ok what ever it took to be riding today. He took my info and told me i would have it today. woke up excited to fix my bike go out riding but no line. waited all day and no line. Checked my account and no money taken out. No call from HAI, nothing. If he wasnt going to be able to get it to me the least i could have gotten was a call so i could get it from somewhere else...2nd bad experience with HAI and wont give them the chance for another one
